Sleeping baby

The reality of Evan changing from a baby to a toddler is starting to hit me. It will be here before I can blink. Robert and I alternate who gives him his bedtime bottle but lately Robert has given it to him more often than I have. Why? Because Owen wants Mommy to do EVERYTHING for him right now from baths to getting milk to changing clothes. I digress. I just really wanted to give Evan his bottle tonight and hold a sweet sleeping baby afterward. We don't rock him to sleep but he's generally zonked after his last bottle at night. Robert just likes to hold Evan in the chair or bed when he's asleep at night before we put him in his crib. I just can't help but feel sadness that he keeps getting bigger and bigger in my arms and this stage is going to be over before I am ready. I'm sure I'd never be ready. I know I wasn't ready when Owen grew up too fast on me. It's just so special and sweet to hold a precious sleeping baby who is content just to be held in your arms. He's crawling around faster now and starting to move out of the army crawl phase to using more range with his arms. If Evan sees one of Owen's trains moving across the floor, he's off!

Some cute things Owen will say:

"Curious the George" for "Curious George"
"I want to hold you Mommy" when he wants me to hold him. :)

So thankful for 2 healthy boys, their sweet daddy, and a 3 day-weekend!

  1. I agree. One of the sweetest things about babies.

Bring on the 3 day weekend!

  2. I hear you on that! Liam was so wiggly seemed like his snuggly days ended earlier than Zachary's did. I am envious of you - and everyone else - getting a 3-day weekend. My company does not get tomorrow off. :( Looking forward to seeing yall on Saturday!
